SSI Open Water Instructor
Become an SSI Open Water Instructor (ISO 24802-2) in Cornwall, one of the UK’s best diving destinations!
This is the main step in the career of every diving professional. Being an SSI Open Water Instructor offers the possibility of teaching and supervising courses for recreational divers. In addition, once you are an instructor, you can continue training as an Advanced Open Water Instructor and expand your horizons and versatility as a professional even more.
The ITC course (Instructor Training Course) lasts a total of 10 days and prepares the candidates for the Instructor Evaluation (IE), that is carried out at the end of the course.
It provides the knowledge, skill, and preparation necessary to properly organise, train, teach and certify divers. The SSI standards and philosophy are a basic pillar in the methodology and content of the course.
You will learn how to present academic presentations in the classroom, skill demonstrations in confined and open water environments and have exam simulations and much more. All under the supervision and guidance of your Instructor Trainer.
We have state-of-the-art classrooms and facilities for the development of your ITC. We can also help you manage your stay in Cornwall, in case you do not have accommodation.
Once certified as an SSI Open Water Instructor, you will be able to teach the SSI Open Water Diver and corresponding courses, as well as Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress & Rescue, Perfect Buoyancy and Dive Guide specialty courses, at any SSI dive center in the world.
